The Component Library

The Vertex Forge component library is an extensive collection of building blocks that empowers you to build whatever you can imagine without needing any development work.

Every component is pre-optimized and built with performance, accessibility, and scalability in mind. All you have to do is add the building block of your choice, configure it with the available options, fill it with content, and style it to fit your use cases.

All building blocks in the library cover three main areas that combine together to ensure you the best possible outcome and let you focus on what is really important - your content.

Component schemas are definitions of the fields available in your components. These schemas are best-practice optimized to ensure you have optimal user experience and content modeling practices in place while working with them in the Visual Editor to build and adapt your content.

Similar to component schemas, these preview templates provide a quick overview of the content in your component building blocks without requiring you to dive into them. Every component in the Vertex Forge Component Library comes with a pre-configured and optimized preview template, enhancing your user experience with components while working within the Visual Editor.

Last but not least, every single component has an implementation part that is deeply interconnected with the Storyblok Component Schemas and your filled-out content and configuration of the building blocks you use. Vertex Forge ensures the implementation is performed in a performance-optimized and scalable manner to provide the optimal representation and behavior of your content pieces for your end users.

There are two main types of components available in the Vertex Forge Component Library. "Content Type" components and "Nestable" components.

"Content Type" components are content-level elements that you create and can either access per API or reference them within your content. "Page" components, such as those you can create to build your web project pages, are an example. Additionally, "Global Components", "Layouts", or "Theme Presets" are all "Content Type" components that you can reference to reuse content or configuration.

Within your "Content Type" components, you can choose from a multitude of "Nestable" components to build out your content. Depending on the context where you want to add them, different kinds of these nestable components might be available.

"Nestable" components are organized into categories to help you navigate them more easily and access the one you need quickly and seamlessly. You have categories like structural components available that let you build out your content structure with containers or headings, media components that allow you to enrich your content with images or videos, or even more specialized third-party integration components like booking tools.
